BYD has confirmed that its luxury brand, Denza, will make its India debut on November 13, 2026. The brand is expected to introduce two models initially, the Z9 GT shooting brake and the D9 luxury MPV. Positioned above BYD’s existing range, both models will target the premium end of the Indian market.
Denza Z9 GT: 1,156hp electric shooting brake
The Z9 GT is expected to be Denza’s range-topping model at launch, with an estimated price of Rs 1.2 crore to Rs 1.5 crore (ex-showroom).
The all-electric shooting brake gets a 122.5kWh battery pack and a triple-motor setup producing a combined 1,156hp, with power sent to all four wheels. Denza claims a 0-100kph time of 2.7 seconds, a top speed of 270kph and a WLTP range of 600km.
The Z9 GT supports charging at up to 1,500kW, with a claimed 10-97 percent charge time of just nine minutes at that rate. It also features Compass Turn 360°, which allows the car to rotate from a standstill, and a crab-walk function that enables sideways movement.
Denza D9: Luxury electric MPV
The D9 uses a 103kWh battery pack paired with a front-mounted electric motor producing 313hp and 360Nm. Its claimed WLTP range is 520km, and it supports DC fast charging at up to 200kW.
Equipment highlights include electrically adjustable second-row captain’s chairs with heating, ventilation and massage functions. The MPV also gets three-zone climate control, full leather upholstery and ambient lighting.
Denza’s India launch will expand BYD’s presence into a higher-priced luxury segment, with the Z9 GT targeting buyers seeking high performance and the D9 focusing on chauffeur-driven comfort.
