BYD India Opens Bookings for SEALION 7 First Anniversary Edition
The limited-edition variant offers exclusive benefits to the first 1,100 customers, including a complimentary home charger and an extended low-voltage battery warranty.
BYD India has opened bookings for the SEALION 7 First Anniversary Edition starting 17 March 2026, marking one year since the model's debut at the Bharat Expo 2025. Customers can reserve the vehicle through BYD's dealership network across India.
The anniversary edition is limited in scope: only the first 1,100 customers will receive a package of exclusive benefits, which includes a complimentary 11 kW home charger with installation and two years of free service and maintenance. Those customers will also receive an extended eight-year or 150,000 km warranty on the Low Voltage Battery — which uses Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) technology — up from the standard six-year coverage. The High Voltage Battery carries a standard warranty of eight years or 160,000 km. These offers are valid for bookings made until 30 April 2026.
The primary visual distinction of the anniversary edition is a Tahiti Blue interior colour theme, which BYD says draws on the vehicle's existing ocean-inspired design language.
Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles at BYD India, said the edition was intended to mark the model's first year in the market while adding ownership value. "With exclusive benefits for the first 1,100 customers and enhanced ownership advantages such as the eight-year Low Voltage Battery warranty, we aim to make premium electric mobility even more compelling for Indian consumers," he said.
Since its launch, BYD reports the SEALION 7 has recorded more than 2,500 units in sales in India. The model has also received recognition at several industry events, including the Premium EV of the Year title at the car&bike 2026 Awards, the Premium SUV of the Year 2025 at the TV9 Auto Awards, and a Luxury Midsize SUV category award at the ACKO Drive Awards 2026.
The SEALION 7 is a fully electric SUV powered by an 82.56 kWh Blade Battery. It is available in two variants: a Premium variant with a claimed range of 567 km (NEDC) and a 0–100 km/h time of 6.7 seconds, and a Performance variant with a claimed range of 542 km and a 0–100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds. The vehicle incorporates BYD's Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology, which integrates the battery pack as a structural component of the chassis.
Interior features include a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, Nappa leather seats, 128-colour ambient lighting, a panoramic roof with electric sunshade, a 12-speaker Dynaudio audio system, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability. The exterior was designed by BYD's Global Design Director, Wolfgang Egger.
The SEALION 7 sits within a broader Indian lineup that also includes the ATTO 3 eSUV, the eMAX 7 eMPV, and the SEAL sedan. BYD India, established in Chennai in 2007, operates two manufacturing facilities covering more than 140,000 square metres, with an investment of over $200 million. The parent company sold more than 4.6 million new energy vehicles globally in 2025.
