BYD India Announces ₹50,000 Price Hike for SEALION 7 Premium Variant

BYD India, the domestic subsidiary of BYD, the world's leading New Energy Vehicle manufacturer, has announced a price adjustment for its electric SUV lineup effective January 1, 2026. The company will implement a ₹50,000 increase on the BYD Sealion 7 Premium variant, while the Performance variant will maintain its current pricing.

The announcement provides a transition window for prospective buyers, with BYD India confirming that all bookings completed on or before December 31, 2025 will be processed at existing ex-showroom prices.

Revised Pricing Structure

Following the January 1 adjustment, the BYD Sealion 7 Premium variant with an 82.56 kWh battery will be priced at ₹49,40,000, up from ₹48,90,000. The Sealion 7 Performance variant will remain at ₹54,90,000.

According to Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles Business at BYD India, the pricing modification addresses evolving cost factors while maintaining the vehicle's market positioning. "The BYD Sealion 7 remains a strong value offering, backed by its advanced electric architecture, high performance and comprehensive safety package," Chauhan stated.

Since its market introduction, the BYD Sealion 7 has recorded sales exceeding 2,300 units across India. The model has received industry recognition, including an Excellence in Battery Technology award from Motoring World and a Luxury Mid-Size SUV designation from Acko Drive.
