Bosch to Form Dedicated Semiconductor Division, Targets €5 Billion Sales by 2030
The German technology supplier restructures its Mobility Electronics unit.
Bosch has announced plans to establish a standalone Semiconductors division, coming into effect in 2028, as part of a corporate restructuring within its Mobility business sector.
The new unit will consolidate Bosch's global chip operations, aiming to generate €5 billion in annual semiconductor sales by 2030 by expanding beyond traditional automotive supply into robotics and AI infrastructure.
Under the organizational changes, chip operations currently housed within the Mobility Electronics division will transfer to the new unit, while the existing division retains management of automotive electronic control units and power electronics.
Erik Rein, head of Bosch's semiconductor business, said, "By establishing our own unit, we're opening a new chapter in our more than 60-year history in the semiconductor industry. In the future, we'll be able to better tailor our services to our customers' needs - in the automotive sector, consumer electronics, and beyond."
