Bosch Limited Q2 Profit Rises 19% to Rs 840 Crore as Automotive Sales Jump 29.8%
Consolidated revenue increased 28.2% to Rs 7,655 crore in Q2 FY27, supported by higher OEM production ahead of the festive season and the consolidation of Bosch Chassis Systems India.
Bosch Limited, the Indian arm of German technology supplier Robert Bosch GmbH, reported a 28.2% year-on-year increase in quarterly consolidated revenue to Rs 7,655 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2026, driven by strong original equipment manufacturer (OEM) production ahead of the festive season and the first-time consolidation of its active safety chassis business.
Consolidated profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter rose 19.0% to Rs 840 crore, up from Rs 708 crore in the corresponding year-ago period. Profit before tax (PBT) reached Rs 1,122 crore, representing an operational margin of 14.7%. Excluding a one-time accounting reversal of employee long-term service benefits, pre-tax earnings stood at Rs 992 crore. On a standalone basis, operational revenue grew 28.6% to Rs 6,164 crore, while net profit after tax reached Rs 675 crore.
The consolidated results incorporate, for the first time, the operating metrics of Bosch Chassis Systems India Private Limited (RBIC), which became a wholly owned subsidiary on July 1, 2026.
Competition Intensity
Bosch operates at the centre of India's automotive Tier-1 supply chain, which is undergoing rapid technology transitions driven by mandatory safety standards, stringent emission norms and rising vehicle electrification. Bosch maintains a dominant position in diesel injection and gasoline direct injection (GDI) in India.
Its primary global competitors in this domain include Denso Corporation (Japan) and BorgWarner Inc. (USA), which supply competing powertrain management, turbocharging and EGR valve technologies to domestic OEMs.
With the full absorption of RBIC, Bosch consolidates its position in vehicle dynamics. Key rival suppliers include ZF Group (Germany, operating through ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems India) and Continental AG (Germany), both of which supply advanced braking control units, radar sensors and electronic braking systems to major Indian passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle manufacturers.
As OEMs migrate towards centralised zonal domain controllers and software-defined architectures, Bosch competes with Aptiv PLC (USA) and Denso, alongside domestic companies such as Samvardhana Motherson International Limited (SAMIL), Uno Minda Limited and Sona BLW Precision Forgings (Sona Comstar). These domestic players are expanding into vehicle electronics, sensors and EV powertrain components.
Mobility Segment Deep-Dive
Overall product sales in Bosch's core Automotive segment expanded by 29.8% year-on-year to Rs 7,001 crore, up from Rs 5,445 crore in the prior-year quarter. The automotive segment generated an operating profit of Rs 968.5 crore.
The expansion spanned multiple technology domains:
Power Solutions (+36.4% YoY): Sales increased on the back of elevated OEM demand for commercial vehicle diesel injection systems and passenger car powertrain electronics, driven by strong fleet utilisation and vehicle assembly schedules.
Vehicle Motion (+34.9% YoY): The segment recorded growth following higher penetration of advanced braking hardware, electronic stability controls and ride-dynamics software across passenger vehicle platforms.
Two-Wheeler Business (+17.7% YoY): Growth was supported by a favourable product mix towards premium motorcycles and two-wheeler electronic fuel injection (EFI) systems, aligned with OEM inventory stocking ahead of key festive sales weeks.
Mobility Aftermarket (+13.2% YoY): The segment saw steady off-take in replacement parts, including spark plugs, rotating electrical machines and common-rail diesel components, supplemented by direct supply channels to OEM service networks.
Beyond Mobility (+24.0% YoY): Industrial technology and power tools recorded double-digit net sales growth on the back of expanding construction and infrastructure projects.
