Germany's BOS GmbH & Co. KG and JRG Automotive Industries India Pvt. Ltd. have formed a joint venture, BOS-JRG Automotive Systems Pvt. Ltd., to manufacture automotive shading and cargo management systems in India.

BOS holds 60% equity in the venture, while JRG holds the remaining 40%. The partnership combines BOS's engineering background with JRG's manufacturing base in India.

The companies inaugurated a manufacturing facility in Bawal, Haryana, on 10 June 2026, followed by a formal launch event in Gurugram. The plant will initially produce side window sunshades and tonneau covers, with plans to later expand into additional shading, comfort and mechatronic systems for vehicle interiors.

The venture has made an initial investment of more than $1 million. Series production is scheduled to begin in December 2026, and the company is targeting revenues exceeding $15 million within five years, supported by localisation, technology transfer and expansion across passenger vehicle manufacturers in India.

JRG manufactures injection-moulded plastic automotive components across more than seven units in India, supplying OEMs including HCIL, HMSI, SMIPL, MSIL and Autoliv. BOS, founded in 1910 and based in Ostfildern, Germany, supplies shading, cargo management and mechatronic systems to vehicle manufacturers globally and has set a target of climate neutrality across its operations by 2039.
