Bolt.Earth Launches India's First Universal DC Fast Charger for Two- and Three-Wheelers
Company aims to deploy 25,000 chargers across India within one year.
Bolt.Earth launched Blaze DC, the country's first universal DC fast charger designed specifically for electric two- and three-wheelers. The launch took place in Bengaluru, addressing the charging infrastructure gap for vehicles that comprise over 80 percent of India's EV fleet.
The Blaze DC charger series represents a domestically manufactured solution to India's interoperability challenges in EV charging. The device supports Type 6 and LECCS Type 7 connectors, ensuring compatibility with major EV brands including Ather, Ola, Ultraviolette, Hero MotoCorp, Matter Motors, and Simple Energy.
The 12kW variant delivers charging speeds that provide up to 120 kilometers of range in 15 minutes. The charger features modular construction for simplified maintenance and incorporates remote diagnostics with real-time error detection to minimize downtime.
Bolt.Earth targets supporting 90 percent of fast-charging-enabled two- and three-wheelers within one year. The company plans deployment across major metropolitan areas including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Kerala, and Pune.
Raghav Bharadwaj, CEO of Bolt.Earth, said, "At Bolt.Earth, we've always believed that true EV adoption in India cannot happen without solving for the everyday commuter---be it auto-rickshaw drivers, food delivery executives, or small business owners who rely on two- and three-wheelers. Blaze DC is a solution built for them, by Indian engineers, with Indian infrastructure in mind. This is not just a product launch; it's the beginning of a more inclusive, accessible, and faster EV ecosystem."
The launch event included a demonstration of the charging system's integration with the Bolt.Earth Charging App, which currently supports over 37,000 charging points across 1,700 cities and serves more than 224,000 active EV users.
Dr. Shiv Shankara N, Managing Director of Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM), attended as chief guest. Dr. Shiv Shankara N said, "As a government entity, BESCOM has established over 200 EV charging stations, contributing to Karnataka's leadership in EV infrastructure with 5,200+ chargers statewide. While many of our chargers are currently slow, we are keen to upgrade to fast chargers and are looking to collaborate with private players like Bolt.Earth, who already operate over 4,000 stations. We're also identifying government land to reserve for future EV infrastructure and inviting private participation. With growing demand and policy support, this is a vital era for EV expansion. We appreciate Bolt.Earth's efforts and look forward to partnering with you to drive this mission."
The development addresses market projections indicating over 5 million electric scooters will be sold annually by 2027 in India's two-wheeler segment. Current public charging infrastructure remains limited and costly for small business owners, gig economy workers, and daily commuters.
The Blaze DC launch positions Bolt.Earth as a vertically integrated EV ecosystem provider, offering charging hardware, software platforms, maintenance services, installation support, and real-time charger discovery APIs. The company provides charging solutions for residential, commercial, and fleet applications, serving clients including Tata, Bajaj, Mahindra, American Express, SAP, Brigade Group, and Sobha Realty.
Bolt.Earth operates India's largest EV charging network with over 37,000 charging points across more than 1,700 cities. The company's charging app, available on both Android and iOS platforms, facilitates charging through a scan-pay-charge process. Additional services include a Charger Management System, EV charger discovery APIs for businesses, installation and maintenance support, and 24-hour customer service.
