BMW India has opened pre-orders for the M2 xDrive Turbo Edition through its authorised dealership network, with the limited-run model to be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
The special edition draws design inspiration from the BMW 2002 Turbo, introduced in 1973, and combines the M2's performance specifications with styling elements referencing the earlier model.
The BMW M2 xDrive Turbo Edition is finished in Alpine White and features hand-painted BMW Motorsport stripes, a black power dome and reversed 'turbo' lettering on the bonnet. Other exterior details include a 'turbo' emblem beneath the M2 badge, a carbon-fibre roof and tailgate, and a carbon-fibre rear spoiler. Optional 19-inch front and 20-inch rear M Performance forged wheels are available in Gold Bronze.
The cabin features M Carbon bucket seats, an M Alcantara steering wheel, carbon-fibre interior trim and a 'turbo' badge integrated into the centre cupholder cover.
Power comes from a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine producing 353kW (480hp). BMW India states a 0-100kph acceleration time of 3.7 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250kph. With the optional M Driver's Package, the maximum speed increases to 285kph.
The edition references the BMW 2002 Turbo, which was introduced in 1973 with a 170hp engine and a claimed top speed exceeding 200kph. The model was among the early series-production passenger cars to use turbocharging.
BMW India has not disclosed the M2 xDrive Turbo Edition's price or the number of units allocated to the Indian market in the press release.
