BMW India Launches Limited Edition Models to Mark 3 Series' 50th Anniversary
BMW releases 50 units each of special edition 330Li and M340i models, priced between INR 64 lakh and INR 76.9 lakh, available exclusively online.
BMW India has announced the launch of limited edition variants of its 3 Series models to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the BMW 3 Series globally. The company will produce only 50 units each of the BMW 330Li M Sport '50 Jahre' Edition and BMW M340i '50 Jahre' Edition.
The BMW 330Li M Sport '50 Jahre' Edition is priced at INR 64 lakh, while the BMW M340i '50 Jahre' Edition costs INR 76.9 lakh, both ex-showroom. The vehicles will be available exclusively through the BMW Online Shop and are being manufactured at the company's Chennai facility.
Both models feature laser engraving with '1/50' badging on the B-Pillar to indicate their limited production status. The 330Li edition includes M High-Gloss Shadowline elements, carbon fiber interior trim, and a head-up display with 3D augmented view navigation. The M340i edition features special emblems, performance door pins, black M badged fenders, and customers will receive a 1:18 scale model of the BMW 3.0 CSL.
The BMW 3 Series was first introduced in 1975 as a replacement for the BMW 02 series and has evolved through seven generations. The model range has become one of the world's top-selling premium vehicles and established the foundation for what is now known as the compact executive sedan segment.
BMW Group India President and CEO Vikram Pawah stated that the 3 Series has served as a benchmark for driving pleasure and created a new vehicle category. The model range has sold over one million units of the M340i variant globally, with more than 1,000 units sold in India since its 2021 launch.
The 330Li M Sport features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine producing 258 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, with acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 6.2 seconds. The M340i uses a 2.998-liter straight-six petrol engine generating 374 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.4 seconds.
