BMW India has delivered 1,000 units of its flagship electric sedan, the BMW i7, since the model was launched in the country, marking a milestone for the company’s luxury electric vehicle (EV) portfolio .
The BMW i7 is the brand’s first all-electric luxury sedan and sits at the top of its India line-up. According to BMW India, the delivery milestone reflects growing demand for high-end electric vehicles in the domestic market, particularly in the luxury segment .
Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO, BMW Group India, said the i7’s performance underscores customer interest in combining electric mobility with premium features. He added that the model has strengthened BMW’s position in India’s luxury EV space.
The BMW i7 is based on the company’s fifth-generation eDrive technology. In its eDrive50 specification, the sedan produces 449 hp and 650 Nm of torque, accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.5 seconds, and offers a claimed range of up to 603 km on the WLTP cycle.
The model features a dual-headlamp design, an illuminated kidney grille, and a technology-focused interior. Key highlights include a curved digital display, a rear-seat 31-inch 8K theatre screen with integrated streaming support, and executive lounge seating with reclining, massage, and ventilation functions.
BMW India has positioned the i7 as a showcase of its electric and digital capabilities, as the company continues to expand its electric portfolio in the Indian market.
