Bijliride to Deploy 5,000 More EVs Across Five Metros
Bijliride, India's EV rental and mobility-tech platform, will deploy 5,000 additional electric two-wheelers across Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai, expanding its fleet to serve quick-commerce firms and gig delivery workers across India today.
Bijliride announced an operational expansion on Tuesday, adding 5,000 new electric two-wheelers to meet rising demand from corporate and retail clients. The rollout builds on the company's existing presence in Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Pune, and is aimed at supplying quick-commerce and hyperlocal delivery businesses with a larger, ready-to-deploy fleet.
According to the company, the added vehicles are intended to help enterprise partners address last-mile logistics challenges by improving fleet availability and reducing delays. For gig workers and delivery partners, Bijliride said the expansion is meant to ease fuel and maintenance costs through a zero-commission earning model, under which riders keep their full earnings, alongside battery-swapping services designed to reduce vehicle downtime.
Shivam Sisodiya, Founder and CEO of Bijliride, said the expansion reflects a focus on markets such as Hyderabad — where the company is headquartered — and other major metros with strong demand for affordable, sustainable transport. He said the goal was to cut customer wait times, lower costs for delivery workers, and give enterprise clients a tech-backed framework meant to reduce delays in order fulfillment
The company said it is expanding the growth through a franchise model, working with local micro-entrepreneurs to operate regional mobility hubs, while also scaling infrastructure such as pickup hubs, charging networks and on-road maintenance support in each target city.
Founded in 2021, Bijliride describes itself as a SaaS-powered electric two-wheeler rental platform aimed at addressing urban pollution and commuting costs. The company says it currently operates a fleet of more than 4,000 EVs and has set a target of reaching one million users by 2030.
