The Bharat Mobility Global Expo, which had transitioned into an annual event in 2024, will now revert to a biennial schedule. Autocar Professional learns that the next edition will likely be held from February 4 to February 9, 2027, at multiple venues in the Delhi-NCR region.
The shift to a biennial format aims to provide stakeholders ample time to develop and showcase next-generation mobility solutions. Organizers plan to expand the event's scope, incorporating more international collaborations and a broader range of exhibits spanning the entire mobility ecosystem.
The upcoming expo is likely to follow the same format as 2025. It will continue to be hosted across three prime locations: Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, and the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida.
Industry experts view the biennial scheduling as a strategic move to ensure each edition delivers substantial value to participants and attendees, reflecting the rapid advancements in the mobility sector, instead of spending money annually with very little to showcase.
Motor shows worldwide are steadily losing steam as the traditional format struggles to stay relevant in a rapidly evolving automotive landscape. Once seen as the ultimate platform for global carmakers to showcase new models and concepts, many international auto expos now face dwindling participation from key OEMs, reduced media buzz, and shrinking public footfalls. Factors such as the shift toward digital product reveals, rising costs of elaborate displays, and the industry's growing focus on direct-to-consumer experiences have all contributed to this decline.
Significant events like the Frankfurt Motor Show, Geneva International Motor Show, and even the Detroit Auto Show have recently been scaled down, postponed, or reimagined, reflecting a broader industry pivot away from large-scale exhibitions toward more agile, targeted brand engagements.
In the middle of this trend, India's move to an annual show highlighted how the country is turning into an important market of the future. The move towards an annual edition was taken as India had overtaken Japan as the third-largest car market in the world, and the country continues to be amongst the top five markets for tractors, two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and commercial vehicles.
The recently held Bharat Mobility Global Expo in 2025, held from January 17 to 22, was a resounding success, giving a glimpse of an electrified future.
The event attracted nearly one million visitors and featured over 1,500 exhibitors. It showcased 239 product launches, emphasizing electric vehicles, sustainable mobility, and smart transportation solutions.
Much like the era when the Motor Show was organised once every two years, the Auto component Aftermarket Auto, Automechanika, will be held in 2025.
