AXISCADES Technologies Limited and France-based Cilas S.A. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to co-develop a vehicle-mounted Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS) featuring Cilas’ Helma-P laser weapon, aligning with India’s defense modernization and self-reliance goals.
AXISCADES Technologies Limited, an Indian defense technology firm, has entered into a strategic partnership with French laser specialist Cilas S.A. to jointly promote and develop advanced Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS) technologies for the Indian Armed Forces.
As part of the Memorandum of Understanding, AXISCADES will design and integrate the system architecture, while Cilas will provide its Helma-P high-energy laser weapon system. The collaboration aims to co-develop a vehicle-mounted solution combining AXISCADES’ command and control systems with Cilas’ laser technology.
According to AXISCADES Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Sampath Ravinarayanan, the Helma-P system has proven its effectiveness in operations for NATO, during the Paris Olympic Games, and with the French Navy. He stated that the partnership aligns with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative by focusing on local integration, maintenance, and production within India.
Cilas CEO Olivier Prat highlighted AXISCADES’ engineering expertise and prior experience in anti-drone systems for the Indian Army. He expressed confidence that the collaboration would help strengthen India’s defense capabilities through long-term cooperation and localized solutions.
The partnership represents an important milestone in India-France defense collaboration, emphasizing joint innovation and the delivery of world-class security technologies to support the modernization of India’s defense forces.
