Axalta Coating Systems to Present Commercial Vehicle Coatings Lineup at Prawaas 5.0 Summit
Material supplier outlines specialized portfolio targeting low-cure systems and thermal management requirements for electric buses.
Axalta Coating Systems has announced its participation in the upcoming Prawaas 5.0 multimodal passenger mobility summit, scheduled to take place from July 9 to 11, 2026, in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The coatings manufacturer said that it plans to utilize the transport industry platform to introduce its latest localized product innovations to domestic original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), bus body builders, public transit fleet operators, and regional policymakers.
During the three-day industry summit, the company states that it will showcase specialized low-cure coating formulations engineered for compatibility with fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) substrates. The material composition is designed to support structural vehicle lightweighting initiatives and improve fuel efficiency metrics for commercial transport fleets.
To address the shifting regulatory requirements within the domestic public transit space, the supplier is highlighting several sustainability-focused product streams. The portfolio includes waterborne coatings engineered to minimize volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions during manufacturing, alongside specialized heat-reflective exterior coatings.
Dr. Prameela Susarla, Vice President and Managing Director of Axalta India, stated that the technical integration aims to deliver prolonged asset protection and higher productivity indicators to reduce the overall total cost of ownership for commercial vehicle operations.
