As the Indian market continues to evolve, it is taking new shapes and forms, influencing car makers' design and production strategies worldwide. Discerning young Indian buyers are looking for differentiated offerings, and car makers are responding with innovative global designs and form factors. One such new body style is the SUV Coupe.

Tata Motors and Citroen have taken the lead, launching their respective models before the crucial
festive season. While Tata Motors is banking on its Curvv SUV Coupe to expand the addressable market and enter the fast-growing and highly active mid-size SUV space, Citroen India attempts to break into consumer mindshare to stay relevant.

SUV Coupes, a bold departure from the traditional SUV form factor, are characterised by their unique combination of the robust, high-riding nature of an SUV, with the sleek, aerodynamic profile of a coupe. This design trend, which first gained traction in global markets more than 15 years ago, particularly in Europe and the United States, is now making its way to the Indian market, aiming to carve a space for itself. Our cover story delves into the evolution of the Indian car market and how form factors have transitioned into different shapes and sizes.

Despite slowing sales growth, M&M and Tata Motors have started the new financial year FY25 well. We have reports from their respective management on what to expect for the rest of the year.
