Audi India Reports 2,128 Unit Sales in First Half of 2025 Amid Market Challenges
German luxury carmaker cites weakening exchange rates and geopolitical tensions as factors impacting demand in Indian market during January-June period.
Audi India sold 2,128 vehicles in the first six months of 2025, the German luxury car manufacturer announced Tuesday. The company attributed slower sales to reduced demand driven by price increases from a weakening exchange rate and market uncertainty amid geopolitical tensions.
Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India, said the company used the challenging period to strengthen its foundation for growth. The executive emphasized Audi's focus on a luxury-first approach and customer experience to maintain brand loyalty during the difficult market conditions.
Despite the headwinds in new vehicle sales, Audi's pre-owned car division showed resilience with 10 percent growth during the January-June period. The Audi Approved: plus program currently operates through 26 facilities across India, with plans to expand the network further this year.
The company has made progress in electric vehicle infrastructure, establishing over 6,500 charging points nationwide under its "Charge My Audi" initiative. This expansion aims to increase convenience and confidence for electric vehicle customers across the country.
In a recent brand development, Olympic medalist and World Champion Neeraj Chopra was introduced as a brand ambassador, reinforcing Audi's connection with performance-driven Indian consumers.
Audi India currently offers 12 models including the A4, A6, Q3, Q3 Sportback, Q5, Q7, Q8, RS Q8, Q8 e-tron, Q8 Sportback e-tron, e-tron GT, and RS e-tron GT. The company expects growth in the luxury segment during the second half of 2025, citing the upcoming festive season, new product introductions, and its digital-first approach as key drivers.
The Audi Group operates in more than 100 markets worldwide through brands including Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, and Ducati. In 2024, the group delivered 1.7 million Audi vehicles globally, along with vehicles from its other premium brands.
