Atul Auto Partners With Exponent Energy to Develop Rapid Charging Electric Three Wheelers

Atul Auto and Exponent Energy announced a strategic partnership in Bengaluru on April 24, 2026, to jointly develop and deploy rapid charging electric three wheelers. Under the agreement, the companies have committed to producing a minimum of 15,000 passenger vehicles powered by Exponent over a three year period.

The new vehicles will integrate Exponent Energy's OTO mobility platform, which encompasses battery technology, powertrain systems, and vehicle software. This proprietary technology enables a full charge in 15 minutes. The platform is also interoperable, allowing the vehicles to utilize standard public and home charging infrastructure alongside Exponent's dedicated network. Furthermore, the battery and charging system will be backed by a 2 lakh km warranty for commercial operations.

A new financing platform, Exponent One, will provide financial support for the upcoming variant. These financial packages are set to include embedded insurance and structured buyback options. Neeraj Chandra, Managing Director of Atul Auto, stated that integrating the rapid charging technology into their portfolio will enhance the value proposition for buyers and accelerate the broader transition toward electric mobility.
