Ather to increase price for the Rizta from January 1

Ather launched its family-centric electric scooter, the Rizta, a few months ago. Now, dealer sources have informed us that the company will be increasing the price of its most affordable model by Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000 from January 1.

Ather Rizta price hike details

The Ather Rizta is available in three variants: S (Rs 1.10 lakh), Z 2.9 (Rs 1.27 lakh, and Z 3.7 (Rs 1.46 lakh). Additionally, the Pro Pack, which unlocks a majority of the scooter’s features, will set you back by Rs 13,000, Rs 15,000, and Rs 20,000 for the three variants, respectively. From January 1, the price of the Rizta will go up by Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000, although the breakup for each variant hasn’t been specified.

The Rizta was the long-awaited practical and family-centric model from Ather, after the sporty 450 models. While the Rizta shares most of the fundamentals like the battery, motor, main frame, and electronics with the 450, it introduces some new features. The Magic Twist regenerative braking system has been carried over from the flagship 450 Apex to the Rizta.

With this price hike, the price delta between Ather’s practical EV and those from the Bajaj, TVS, and Hero will only widen. Compared to the more affordable Indian electric scooters from legacy Indian OEMs, the Rizta is already on the premium side, and Ather has intentionally done so. It remains to be seen how this will affect the company’s sales come 2025.
