Ather Energy to Expand Retail Network to 700 Experience Centres by FY26

Ather Energy Limited, an electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has announced its plan to expand its retail network to 700 Experience Centres (ECs) across India by the end of FY26. This expansion aims to nearly double the company’s existing footprint, enabling easier access for customers to explore, test ride, and purchase Ather scooters.

The decision follows growing sales of the Rizta, Ather’s family-oriented scooter, which has crossed one lakh units in retail sales within a year of its launch. The model has broadened Ather’s customer base, boosting sales in regions such as Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh. Rizta now contributes to nearly 60% of the company’s total sales, helping Ather strengthen its presence in previously underrepresented markets.

As of March 31, 2025, Ather had 351 Experience Centres across India and 24 centres in Nepal and Sri Lanka, with about 46% located in South India. The company now plans to triple its store count in northern India and continue expanding in eastern and western regions.

In parallel, Ather is strengthening its ecosystem through the Ather Grid, which comprises over 3,578 fast-charging points across India as of March 31, 2025. The company is also expanding its service offerings, including Gold Service Centres in major cities and an Express Care option for completing periodic maintenance within 60 minutes.

Ather currently operates two manufacturing plants in Hosur, Tamil Nadu—for vehicle assembly and battery manufacturing—and is developing a third facility in Bidkin, AURIC, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra. The new plant is expected to raise the company’s total annual production capacity to 1.42 million electric two-wheelers.

Founded in 2013 by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain, Ather Energy Limited manufactures electric two-wheelers in India. Its portfolio includes the Ather 450 series for performance-focused users and the Rizta series for family use. The company also operates Ather Grid, India’s first two-wheeler fast-charging network. As of March 31, 2025, Ather had deployed 3,611 chargers globally—including 3,578 in India—and holds a portfolio of 309 registered trademarks, 203 registered designs, and 47 patents.
