Ather Energy announced on Sunday that it will increase prices of its electric scooters by up to ₹3,000 across all models, effective from January 1, 2026. The company attributed the price revision to rising costs of raw materials, foreign exchange fluctuations, and increased prices of key electronics components in global markets.
Customers looking to purchase an Ather scooter in December can avoid the price increase and take advantage of the company's ongoing "Electric December" promotion. The offer provides benefits of up to ₹20,000 across select cities, including instant credit card EMI discounts, cash incentives, and a complimentary eight-year extended battery warranty called Eight70™ on select models.
Ather's current product range includes the 450 series of performance scooters and the Rizta family scooter. The 450 lineup features multi-mode traction control, MagicTwist™, and connectivity features such as Google Maps navigation, WhatsApp on the dashboard, and call and music control. The Rizta, which recently crossed the 2 lakh sales milestone, offers 56 liters of storage space and safety features including SkidControl™, Fall Safe™, and Emergency Stop Signal.
Founded in 2013 by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain, Ather Energy launched its first electric scooter in 2018. The company currently offers nine variants across its two product lines. Ather scooters are available at the company's experience centers across India and through e-commerce platforms Amazon and Flipkart.
As of September 30, 2025, Ather operates 4,322 fast chargers and neighborhood chargers globally, including 4,282 across India and 40 in Nepal and Sri Lanka. The company holds 319 registered trademarks, 212 registered designs, and 48 registered patents, with additional applications pending for 120 trademarks, 108 designs, and 492 patents worldwide.
