Ather begins deliveries of Rizta scooter

Ather has begun deliveries of its Rizta family scooter just a few weeks after we reported that the company has begun its production.

For now, deliveries of the Ather Rizta have begun in Ahmedabad, Pune, Delhi, Lucknow, Agra, Jaipur, Nagpur, and across Andhra Pradesh. Ather tells us that deliveries from the rest of its dealer network will follow soon.

Ather achieved success in the Indian market due to its sporty and tech-laden 450 models. The Rizta uses the same main frame, battery pack, motor, displays and switchgear as the 450s, but they have been re-engineered to have a more widespread appeal.

The Rizta is an important product for Ather as it has lost its long-held third position in the market due to a drop in monthly EV sales. With this practical and more affordable e-scooter, Ather will aim to recoup that spot from the Bajaj Chetak. Bajaj also recently expanded the Chetak line-up with a sub-Rs 1 lakh variant.
