Ashok Leyland to supply 10 hydrogen fuel cell buses to NTPC, order size likely to increase 

This is India’s first fuel cell bus that will commercially ply on country’s roads.

Ashok Leyland, a flagship company of Hinduja Group will be supplying about 10 hydrogen fuel cell buses to NTPC, which will be deployed for operations in Leh and Ladakh. 

As per Shenu Agarwal, MD of Ashok Leyland, the vehicle is under trial in the region, which is likely to be completed in the next few weeks. 

Agarwal noted that while the current order is for about 10 vehicles, NTPC could order more such vehicles. 

NTPC is India’s largest power utility with an installed capacity of 73,024 MW (including JVs), and plans to become a 130 GW company by 2032.
