Aprilia Racing has introduced the RSV4 X-GP, a limited-edition motorcycle that marks ten years since the RS-GP's debut in MotoGP competition. The Italian manufacturer will produce only 30 units of this exclusive model, priced at €90,000 plus VAT for European markets.
The RSV4 X-GP represents the fifth generation of Aprilia's X series, following previous models including the original RSV4 X (2019), Tuono X (2020), RSV4 X Trenta (2022), and RSV4 X ex3ma (2024). The new model incorporates advanced aerodynamic technology directly transferred from Aprilia's MotoGP racing program.
A standout feature of the RSV4 X-GP is its comprehensive aerodynamic package, which includes leg wings and tail wings previously found only on the RS-GP prototype that competes in MotoGP. These components, developed and patented by Aprilia Racing, work alongside front wings, under wings, and cornering wings to provide enhanced downforce during braking and cornering phases.
The motorcycle utilizes ground effect aerodynamics technology, creating a specialized fairing design that reduces air pressure between the bike and ground during cornering, generating additional downforce. According to the manufacturer, this system delivers five times the vertical air pressure load compared to the standard RSV4, while tripling the load when the bike is leaned over.
Power comes from a 1099cc 65-degree V4 engine with Superbike racing specifications, producing 238 horsepower at 13,750 rpm and 131 Nm of torque at 11,750 rpm. The engine features an increased compression ratio, high-permeability Sprint Filter racing air filter, specialized intake trumpets, and a titanium double-pipe exhaust system manufactured by SC Project.
Electronic management is handled by the APX Aprilia Racing ECU, which includes GPS functionality and allows individual calibration of front wheel lift mitigation, power delivery, traction control, and engine braking for each gear. The system incorporates data acquisition capabilities for performance analysis.
The RSV4 X-GP weighs 165 kilograms dry, creating a power-to-weight ratio that Aprilia describes as providing an unprecedented riding experience. The motorcycle features a structural carbon seat support manufactured by PAN Compositi, representing another technology transfer from MotoGP prototypes.
Suspension components include mechanically controlled Öhlins equipment with dedicated setup, featuring a pressurized fork and TTX monoshock derived from MotoGP technology. Brembo supplies the braking system, with GP4 MS calipers gripping 330mm "T Drive" brake discs. The motorcycle rides on forged magnesium Marchesini wheels fitted with Pirelli slicks identical to those used in World Superbike Championship competition.
All fairings are constructed from carbon fiber by PAN Compositi using procedures developed for MotoGP applications. The RSV4 X-GP features the official livery of Aprilia's MotoGP team, replicating the appearance of the RS-GP25 racing prototype.
Purchase packages include collection options from Aprilia Racing's Noale facility, a Yashi laptop with ECU management software, thermal tire covers, titanium stands, and various branded accessories.
The RSV4 X-GP forms part of Aprilia Racing's Factory Works program, designed to make racing-developed technology available to competitors in factory derivative championships and enthusiasts seeking maximum performance specifications.
"Ten years after their return to MotoGP, Aprilia Racing wanted to celebrate the occasion with a truly special X, drawing as much as possible from MotoGP and transferring many concepts of the RS-GP25 to a factory derivative bike," stated Massimo Rivola, CEO of Aprilia Racing.
Technical Director Fabiano Sterlacchini emphasized the model's MotoGP origins: "With the RSV4 X-GP, we wanted to take another step forward in our project of placing the most advanced technology in the hands of our customers. It is a bike truly born out of MotoGP DNA."
The motorcycle is designated as non-street legal and intended for track use only, reflecting its racing-focused development and specifications.
