AMD Appoints Vinay Awasthi as Senior Vice President, Sales for Asia Pacific and Japan
Appointment aims to strengthen regional sales execution across Asia Pacific and Japan as AMD targets growth opportunities in AI, cloud, enterprise and consumer markets.
AMD has appointed Vinay Awasthi as Senior Vice President, Sales for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), with responsibility for leading the company’s regional sales strategy and execution across the market.
Based in Singapore, Awasthi will focus on customer engagement, OEM and channel partnerships, and go-to-market alignment across APJ markets. His role spans cloud, enterprise, AI, commercial and consumer business segments.
The appointment comes as AMD continues to expand its presence across APJ, one of its key growth regions amid increasing demand for AI and accelerated computing solutions.
Awasthi joins AMD with over two decades of experience in technology sales leadership. Before this appointment, he served as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Compute Sales at Qualcomm. He also spent 21 years at HP in various regional and global leadership roles.

AMD said the appointment reflects its focus on strengthening customer and ecosystem partnerships across the APJ region as it scales operations to address growing market demand.
