AIFI appoints Yash Munot as President and S. Ravishankar as Vice-President for 2024-26 term
The Association of Indian Forging Industry (AIFI) announces new leadership with Yash Munot as President and S. Ravishankar as Vice-President, set to guide the organization through industry advancements and global growth opportunities.
The Association of Indian Forging Industry (AIFI), the organisation representing the Indian forging industry, has announced the election of Yash Munot as the new President for the 2024-26 term. S. Ravishankar has been elected as Vice-President, beginning a new phase in AIFI's leadership.
Yash Munot, who served as AIFI’s Vice-President from 2020 to 2024, is the youngest to assume the role of President in the organisation’s history. He takes over from Vikas Bajaj, who held the position from 2020 to 2024.
Munot is the Chief Executive Officer at Varsha Forgings Private Limited and Managing Director at KCTR Varsha Automotive. He entered the forging industry in 2005, joining the family business at Varsha Forgings. In addition to his industrial roles, Munot is involved in several other sectors including lifestyle products, health food, hospitality, and philanthropy, such as supporting an orphanage and distributing medical aid during the pandemic.
Throughout his time at AIFI, Munot has been involved in organising key industry events like IFC 2011, Forgetech India 2016, Asia Forge 2019, and ForgeTech India 2023. He also served as Chairman of the Western Region from 2018 to 2020. Munot holds a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Marketing from Regents Business School of London and a leadership degree from London Business School. He is a member of EO, an organisation for entrepreneurs, the company claimed.
In a statement, Munot said, "I am honored to take on the role of President. The forging sector in India is at a critical point, with opportunities for innovation and growth. Our aim will be to foster industry collaboration, advance technology, and promote sustainable practices. I look forward to working with all stakeholders to strengthen our industry's global presence."
S. Ravishankar, the newly elected Vice-President, expressed his commitment to working with Munot and the AIFI team to support the industry's development in a rapidly changing global environment. He emphasized the need to enhance competitiveness, drive innovation, and prepare members for future opportunities.
Ravishankar is the Managing Director at Super Auto Forge Private Limited. With over 25 years of experience in the auto component manufacturing sector, he holds a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Annamalai University and a Master's degree from The Ohio State University. After two years working in Detroit, he joined Super Auto Forge in 1997.
Ravishankar played a key role in expanding the company’s international business, establishing marketing offices in Detroit in 2001 and Belgium in 2011. He has served as Chairman of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, Tamil Nadu Branch, and is currently on the Southern Regional Committee of ACMA.
