AB Energia Wins 15 MWp Solar EPC Order in Uttar Pradesh, Marking State Entry

AB Energia Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a solar engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company, has been awarded a 15 megawatt-peak (MWp) solar project in Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh, the company announced on Thursday. The order was placed by Avener Capital, a Mumbai-based financial advisory and investment firm, through its renewable energy subsidiary, Avener Green Pvt. Ltd.

The project is slated for completion by mid-April 2026 and represents AB Energia's first foray into Uttar Pradesh, a state that has emerged as a key growth market for utility-scale renewable energy installations in India. AB Energia will carry out end-to-end construction of the solar power plant, including deployment of advanced bifacial TOPCon modules, which are designed to deliver higher energy output under Indian climatic conditions.

The contract comes shortly after the Union Budget 2026, which analysts and industry participants have broadly characterised as favourable to domestic clean power infrastructure. AB Energia's Chief Financial Officer, Sandesh Naik, cited the budget as a reinforcing factor in the company's expansion strategy.

*"This order reflects the strong confidence placed in AB Energia's EPC capabilities and our commitment to delivering high-quality solar assets within defined timelines. Our entry into Uttar Pradesh aligns with our broader expansion roadmap to diversify our geographic footprint,"* said Naik.

Founded with operations spanning India and the Gulf Cooperation Council region, AB Energia positions itself as a provider of utility-scale and commercial solar installations, including ground-mounted, rooftop, floating solar and carport systems. The Mahoba project is expected to add to the company's growing portfolio of utility-scale solar deployments across India.

Avener Capital, the project's client, describes itself as a strategic advisory firm focused on private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and structured finance. Its renewable energy arm, Avener Green, is active in the development and deployment of clean energy infrastructure across India.

India has set an ambitious target of achieving 500 gigawatts of non-fossil fuel-based energy capacity by 2030. Utility-scale solar EPC projects such as the one awarded to AB Energia are seen as essential to bridging the gap between stated policy goals and on-ground capacity additions.
