Ola has launched a new variant of its most affordable model – the S1 X – which gets a large 4kWh battery pack. The claimed IDC range number is 190km, which is just 5km less than the 195km claimed range of the S1 Pro Gen 2.

The S1 X 4kWh is nearly identical to the other variants with the same styling, feature-set and nearly all dimensions – except weight. The 4kWh model weighs 112kg, which is 4kg heavier than the S1 X with the 3kWh battery. A full charge for the 4kWh model will take 6hr30min. Claimed top speed too is the same 90kph as the S1 Air and other S1 X variants.

Alongside this launch, founder and MD, Bhavish Aggarwal also announced that Ola Electric will be setting up 600 service centres by April and that the charging network will be expanded to 10,000 fast-charging points by next quarter, which is a big jump over the current 1,000 stations.

Last but not least, he also announced that an 8 year/80,000km battery warranty will be available at no extra cost with every new S1 e-scooter purchase. Additionally, customers who want to extend their warranty have the option to do so. Extending the warranty up to 1 lakh kilometres will cost you an additional Rs 4,999 while extending it till 1.25 lakh kilometres will set you back by a further Rs 13,999.
