Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) announced on Friday that it has produced 2 million vehicles at its Indian manufacturing facilities, a milestone reached during what the company described as its strongest commercial period since formation.
The Pune-headquartered company, which manages Indian operations for Škoda, Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, and Porsche, said October 2025 was its most successful month in six years of operations. The milestone comes 25 years after the group began manufacturing in India.
More than 500,000 of the total vehicles produced were built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, which was designed and developed by engineering teams in India. This platform supports the Škoda Kushaq, Slavia, and Kylaq, as well as the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus. According to the company, the most recent 500,000 units were manufactured in approximately three and a half years.
Exports constitute a significant portion of the company's output, with more than 700,000 vehicles shipped to markets in Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, with the Pune plant representing an investment of nearly €600 million.
Individual brand performance showed varied results. Škoda Auto India reported 61,607 units sold in the first ten months of 2025, more than double its year-on-year figures. Volkswagen India said the Virtus sedan achieved its highest monthly sales during the Diwali period, holding over 40 percent market share in the premium sedan segment over 40 months.
Among the group's luxury brands, Lamborghini delivered 113 cars in 2024, representing a 10 percent increase over the previous year. Porsche India expanded to 13 sales locations and added over 4,400 customers in six years. Bentley operations, including sales and aftersales, are now managed through Bentley India, a division within SAVWIPL, with new showrooms in Mumbai and Bengaluru.
Piyush Arora, CEO and Managing Director of SAVWIPL, attributed the milestone to investment in local capability and customer trust across the company's six brands.
The company indicated it would continue focusing on cost optimization and increasing localization throughout its operations as part of efforts to strengthen its position in the Indian market.
