The Indian arm of ZF Friedrichshafen AG is using SIAT 2017, to be held next month at the ARAI Campus in Pune, as an industry platform to highlight its growth and commitment to the Indian market. 

ZF will be displaying its technologically advanced products like MStars-Semi-Trailing Arm Rear Suspension, Ecotronic Commercial Vehicle Automatic Manual Transmission and aluminium control arms at Booth No. 124. The ZF product portfolio ranges from products for driveline, chassis, steering, braking and also electronics and occupant safety systems.

Sharing his perspective on ZF’s future plans, Dr Eckart von Westerholt, vice-president (R&D) at ZF, said: “ZF views India as an extremely important market and is dedicated to strengthening its research and development in the region. With the expansion of our operations in India, we are well prepared to meet local for global and local for local market requirements and provide our customers with the most innovative and high quality products, solutions and services.”

“We have also recently announced plans to open a Technology Center in Hyderabad for software and mechanical engineering requirements. This new technology center will help advance ZF’s ongoing efforts to accelerate local product development while also extending support to the global development teams,” he further added.

New safety and emission norms a business opportunity for ZF

Commenting on SIAT 2017, Suresh KV, Country Head of ZF in India, said: “SIAT is a great platform to showcase the various ZF capabilities in technology and our readiness to meet the evolving customer requirements in the changing automotive landscape in India. The recent announcements by the government to bring in emphasis on safety and environment regulations have been a great accelerator for the introduction of advanced technologies to the Indian market. This has opened up several business growth opportunities for us.”

The 15th edition of the Symposium of International Automotive Technology (SIAT), organised by ARAI in association with SAEINDIA, NATRiP and SAE International at the ARAI Campus in Pune, is to be held from January 18-21.
