Yokohama India’s Bahadurgarh plant resumes production

Japanese tyre major, Yokohama India has announced that it has resumed manufacturing operations at the Bahadurgarh factory in Haryana.

The tyre maker says the factory began operations with strict adherence to the government directives and guidelines. While production is being scheduled in phases, several security measures have been installed at the factory floors to ensure complete safety of the staff.  Standard operating practices have also been fortified to facilitate smooth progress of production lines.

The Yokohama Club Network (YCN) stores have also reopened across the country where government restrictions have been lifted. YCN is a specialised network based on Yokohama’s global philosophy to provide a premium tyre buying experience to the costumer at the point Of purchase.

Globally other than the replacement tyre business, Yokohama Tyres is an OE supplier to many car manufacturers like Audi, Honda, Mercedes Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche, Suzuki and Toyota.

Yokohama India is a 100 percent subsidiary of the Yokohama Rubber. Yokohama Rubber Company completed the 100th year of its establishment in 2017 and decided to foray into Indian market in 2007. India being one of the fastest growing automobile markets made Yokohama India to start its first manufacturing plant in November 2014, with investment of more than 4.4 billion yen (Rs 303 crore) and achieved the milestone figure of 1 millionth tyre production in the year 2016. In April 2020, addition to the current capacity is lined-up to be operational in response to increased demand for Yokohama Tyres.
