India may be a priority market for Volkswagen’s passenger vehicle business, but it is not so, yet, for the company’s commercial vehicles business. Responding to a query from Autocar Professional, Eckhard Scholz, board member of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said that India is not a top priority yet.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles reported sales of 362,000 units during the January to August 2012 period, a 5.6 percent growth over the corresponding period of 2011. Sales in the Asia-Pacific region rose 64 percent to 11,650 units on a relatively small base.

The German auto major displayed 120 vehicles at the recently held IAA commercial vehicles show in Hannover, Germany.
