VW India’s compact sedan to be called Ameo

Volkswagen has revealed the name of its upcoming compact sedan for India – Ameo. The VW Ameo will have its world premiere at the 13th edition of Delhi Auto Expo next month and will be on display at the Volkswagen pavilion in Hall 15 at the India Expo Mart in Noida.
Derived from the Latin word ‘Amo’, meaning ‘I love’, the Ameo, according to VW “combines the brand values of best-in-class safety features, build quality and a great driving experience.”
The Ameo has been designed specifically for the Indian market, and will be manufactured at the company’s Chakan facility. By marking its entry into the high-selling compact sedan segment, the Ameo is expected to be a game-changer for the VW brand in India.
