VW India adds new features to Polo

Volkswagen India has launched a refreshed version of its premium Polo hatchback starting at Rs 523,500 (ex-showroom Mumbai).

The new Polo 2015 comes with a host of new features like cruise control, cooled glovebox and electrically foldable ORVMs with turn indicators. These features are available across variants.

The Polo range is available with a three-cylinder 1.2-litre MPI, a four-cylinder turbocharged 1.2-litre TSI and a four-cylinder 1.5-litre TDI engine and is the only premium hatchback in its segment which has a 4-star NCAP safety rating for adult occupants.

Commenting on the launch, Michael Mayer, director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India, said, “With the new Polo, we have enhanced the driving comfort for our customers. We are confident that the introduction of new features in Polo in this festive season will appeal to discerning car buyers across the country who demand nothing less than the best that German engineering has to offer.”

With the launch of the new Polo, Volkswagen would now look at gaining some share in the highly competitive premium hatchback segment, which is dominated by Hyundai Motor India’s Elite i20. Moreover, Honda Cars India also launched the new Jazz recently which has received a good response from customers.
