May 22, 2012: Volvo Car Corporation has chosen electronic equipment supplier Mitsubishi Electric Corporation as partner for the next-generation infotainment system for future Volvo cars.

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation will supply the central module and be the main supplier for the overall infotainment system. This is an important step in the carmaker’s aim to spearhead the development of world-class connectivity features in its cars.
All intuitive technology that is available at the driver's fingertip is included in Volvo Car Corporation's recently established Sensus brand.
Sensus is the interface that promotes instinctive communication with the car, connecting it to the driver's digital world -- and the central Infotainment module is a core component in this web of interactivity.
Charging hardware with intelligent content
The company says its next challenge is to continue charging the infotainment system with intelligent content that offers the car owner easy, intuitive access to support, information and entertainment.
