Volvo Buses has launched the first of its Volvo Bus Centers in India. On hand to make this key announcement was Akash Passey, managing director, Volvo Buses India and Rune Lundberg, Senior vice president - marketing, Volvo Buses International.

The Volvo Bus Center is a global after sales concept started by the Volvo Group. The Volvo Bus Center aims to provide customers with a single point interface and an experience that is on the lines of international standards, the company said in a press release.

Volvo Buses will soon start upgrading five of it service dealers across Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi. Volvo Buses currently provides after-sales support to its customers jointly with Volvo Trucks. However, as a result of increased concentration of Volvo Buses in regions, these focused Volvo Bus Centers are being established. Lundberg on his maiden visit to Mumbai said that Asia is driving the urban mobility and volumes and continues to be a very promising market.

Passey said, “Our investment aims to strengthen the after-sales network and become a complete solutions provider. Workshop and full contract business and soft sales in the future will account for nearly 50 percent of our revenues in India.”
