Volkswagen's 11,111,111th Polo rolls out from Pune plant.

On February 4, German Federal President Prof. Dr. Horst Koehler together with Prof. Dr. Jochem Heizmann, Member of Board of Volkswagen AG with responsibility of ‘Group Production’ rolled out the 11,111,111th Polo produced globally during his visit to Volkswagen India’s manufacturing plant at Pune.

On February 4, German Federal President Prof. Dr. Horst Koehler together with Prof. Dr. Jochem Heizmann, Member of Board of Volkswagen AG with responsibility of ‘Group Production’ rolled out the 11,111,111th Polo produced globally during his visit to Volkswagen India’s manufacturing plant at Pune. The car is a Trendline version with a 1.2-litre petrol 75hp engine.

The Polo has been in production since 1975 and will be launched in the Indian market in its fifth- generation version. Prof. Dr. Jochem Heizmann said, “The roll-out of the 11,111,111th Polo ever produced globally from the plant by the President makes the occasion especially memorable for every member of the Volkswagen family.”

“This roll-out further throws light on the global success story of the Polo and further validates our conviction in bringing this perennial favourite to Indian customers,” stated Joerg Mueller, Volkswagen Group chief representative India and president and managing director, Volkswagen India.
