Volkswagen Group India records 21.6 percent growth in Q1 2012

April 23: Volkswagen Group India has registered a growth of 21.6 per cent by delivering 34,126 cars from January to March 2012 as compared to 28,072 cars during the same time period last year.

April 23: Volkswagen Group India has registered a growth of 21.6 percent by delivering 34,126 cars from January to March 2012 as compared to 28,072 cars during the same three-month period last year. “With this growth, we are on course towards further strengthening the position of the Volkswagen Group in India,” said Dr John Chacko, Volkswagen Group Chief Representative India and president and managing director, Volkswagen India.



Meanwhile, Audi achieved a remarkable growth of 40.8 percent, delivering a total of 2,269 cars in the first quarter as compared to 1,611 cars during the same period last year. Škoda delivered 11,505 cars, notching 40 percent growth, as compared to 8,217 cars delivered in the January to March 2011 period. And the Volkswagen brand delivered 20,352 cars between January-March 2012, recording 11.6 percent growth as compared to 18,244 cars during the same period in 2011.
