Volkswagen Passenger Cars India has announced the successful completion of the seventh edition of its annual Sarvottam Skill Contest. The top 15 company personnel outperformed in customer experience, critical thinking and problem solving, technical skills, future technology readiness, time management and ensuring enhanced customer satisfaction.

Addressing the winners, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said, “At Volkswagen India, ‘People’ are one of the core and main drivers of our business. Therefore, as a Brand, we focus continuously on upskilling, learning and development of our people across our strong Volkswagen network in India.  Through the Sarvottam Skill Contest, team members operating in the sales function are trained on product know-how, technological advancements within the product, soft skills and understanding customer requirement. The team undergoes an in-depth understanding of vehicle diagnostics and overhauling, technical knowledge, spare parts inventory management, IT and digital systems and processes and soft communication skills.

The Sarvottam Skill contest is a culmination of the applied knowledge and skills acquired through extensive training programs conducted for over 5,000 personnel across the 157 sales, 125 service touchpoints in 117 cities. It witnesses participation from team members across the categories of sales consultants, service technicians & advisors, parts managers and customer care team. This year’s contest, which began in August through online registration, drew over 1,500 entries. The entries were filtered to regional rounds where 250 individuals qualified and 52 regional toppers were identified and participated at the grand finale at Chakan, Pune.
