Volkswagen India commences deliveries of the Ameo
The Ameo, which had its which had its global reveal at the Auto Expo in February, was launched on June 6 with prices ranging between Rs 5.24 lakh and Rs 7.06 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Volkswagen India has started deliveries of the Ameo, the brand’s first sub 4-metre sedan. The bookings for Volkswagen Ameo started along with its first roadshow on May 12, 2016.
The Ameo, which had its which had its global reveal at the Auto Expo in February, was launched on June 6 with prices ranging between Rs 5.24 lakh and Rs 7.06 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Commenting on the commencement of deliveries, Michael Mayer, director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said, “The Ameo has garnered positive response from the prospective customers ever since its debut at the Delhi Motor Show in February this year and its journey through key Indian cities. We are very happy to bring this Made in India and Made for India sedan to our customers now, as we initiate the deliveries. For the Ameo customers, we have also introduced special care packages to ensure a positive ownership experience along with the best of technology, safety and various first in class features at an attractive price. We look forward to continuing this momentum, especially with the festive season kicking in.”
Available in both petrol (1.2-litre 3-cylinder MPI) and diesel (1.5-litre 4-cylinder TDI), the car has been designed and developed for the Indian market following extensive feedback from domestic customers. With safety being one of the top priorities for Volkswagen, the Ameo comes equipped with dual front airbags and ABS as standard fitment across all variants. The Ameo also gets segment-leading features such as cruise control, rain sensing wipers and static cornering lights.
Volkswagen has invested approximately Rs 720 crore in the development of the Ameo, setting up new equipment for its production as well as ramping up the manufacturing of this compact sedan at its Pune Plant in Chakan.
The Ameo is now available across all Volkswagen showrooms. Customers can also book the car through its mobile application available on the Google PlayStore.
