According to industry reports, the bus market in India is expected to reach 70,000 units in 2012. Rapid urbanisation over populated cities, larger dependence on using public transport and critical infrastructure are some factors leading to increased demand for quality transport service to address these challenges.
For 2012, Voith envisages substantial volumes of Diwa.5 transmissions in serial deliveries for Indian customers, mainly from public transport operators in large Indian cities. Voith will support the transmissions with its local service structure.
In addition to Voith’s quality service in India, the Diwa automatic was chosen for its robust design, higher heat resistance of the transmission and cutting-edge technology for providing maximum reliability. Voith says, Diwa automatics allow smooth start-ups across a speed range.
