Leading Tier 1 supplier carves operations into four domains aiming to improve growth and enhance operational efficiencies

UNO Minda Group realigns businesses to be future-ready

Tier 1 supplier UNO MInda Group has embarked on an organisation and business transformation programme effective from April 1, 2021. The company says it aims to “reimagine, redesign and realign our businesses, processes, systems and structures to be a future-ready and sustainable organisation.”

The organisation is being carved into four domains which are to be system oriented. Domain realignment is done specific to technologies, collaborators and customers connect. UNO Minda Group says the realignment will result in better synergies and efficiencies. Meanwhile, functions like marketing, procurement and R&D also have been redesigned to have a centralised team facilitating better control and cost efficiency on account of scale.

There will be a dedicated team formed within the marketing function to focus on ASEAN, EU, Americas and Japan. The Rs 7,200 crore UNO Minda Group also plans to open an office in Thailand to cater to ASEAN markets for better coordination and strengthening relations with global OEMs.

Nirmal K Minda, CMD of UNO MINDA Group, commenting on the organisation changes said, “Evolving to the needs of industry is key to sustainable future and creating a robust business model. This is a defining moment for the group and will be instrumental in our journey of transformation to a unified force”.
