TVS Motor launches XL100 BS VI range at Rs 43,889
TVS Motor says with its advanced ETFi technology the XL100 now boasts of 15 percent higher mileage.
Chennai-based TVS Motor Company has launched the 2020 TVS XL100 BS VI range in Maharashtra. The XL100 moped brand has been one of the highest sellers for TVS and, according to the company, is among the very few two-wheelers in India with a customer base of more than10 million owners. It continues to fetch decent volumes month-on-month for the company.
The XL100 in BS VI avatar comes with EcoThrust Fuel Injection (ETFi) technology, which enables improved fuel efficiency, and an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) system that enables a smooth and silent start.
The TVS XL100 is available in three variants — Heavy Duty i-Touchstart BS VI at Rs 43,889; XL100 Heavy Duty i-Touchstart Special Edition BS VI at Rs 45,129 and XL100 Comfort i-Touchstart BS VI at Rs 45,459 (all-prices ex-showroom Tamil Nadu).
TVS Motor says with its advanced ETFi (electronic fuel injection) technology the XL100 now delivers 15 percent higher mileage. The moped is powered by a high spark energy 99.7cc four-stroke engine, which produces 3.20kW (4.3 bhp) @ 6000rpm and maximum torque of 6.5 Nm @ 3500rpm.
In addition, the new XL100 gets an ‘Easy On-Off switch’ , a convenient larger floor board area, fuel reserve indicator, ergonomically enhanced handlebar, external dry pump, and the rollover sensor for improved safety.
Mopeds too feel the heat of the slowdown
The moped market too is feeling the pressure of the prolonged slowdown. In the first 11 months of FY2020, total sales are 604,132 units, down 25.37% (April 2018-February 2019: 809,517). TVS Motor Co is in the unique position of having 100 percent of the moped market in India because it is the sold manufacturer of these affordable mobility steeds.
