TVS Motor clocks Rs 15,130 crore revenue for FY2018, up 24.7%

Chennai-based TVS Motor Company, which has been on a roll over the past year, has announced its results for FY2018 – strong revenue growth amounting to Rs 15,130 crore and a year-on-year increase of 24.7 percent.

This robust growth comes on the back of a strong performance both in the domestic and export markets – cumulative sales of 33.67 lakh two-wheelers, up 17.8 percent YoY.

For FY2018, the Profit after Tax (PAT) was Rs 663 crore, up 18.7 percent. TVS Motor Company states that it witnessed robust demand for its motorcycles, scooters and three-wheelers both in the domestic and international markets. In India, the company sold a total of 13.55 lakh motorcycles (+25.8%), 11.35 lakh scooters (+30.4%) and 16,429 three-wheelers (+33.82%).

The past fiscal saw the company strengthen its presence in the two-wheeler segment on the back of its launch of the all-new Apache RR 310, NTorq 125 scooter and Apache RTR 160 4V and the refreshed product portfolio.

Q4 (January 2018 – March 2018) performance
In Q4 2018, TVS sold 889,000 units including 346,000 motorcycles  (+61.1%), 280,000 scooters and the balance three-wheelers. Exports grew by 45.3 percent (161,000 two-wheelers and three-wheelers). The company reported Q4 revenues of Rs 3,993 crore, up 40.4 percent, while PAT was Rs 165.52 crore, up 30.6 percent YoY.
