TVS launches peppier 2021 Apache RTR 160 4V at Rs 107,270

Key highlights of updated sporty bike include increased power and torque, reduced weight and tweaked styling.

TVS Motor Company has launched the 2021 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V motorcycle today. The updated sporty machine gets a sizeable bump up in power to 17.38 hp (17.63 ps), which it says “makes it the most powerful motorcycle in its class”.

The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is powered by the 159.7cc, single-cylinder, 4-valve, oil-cooled engine that now develops 17.38hp at 9250rpm (up from 16.02hp @ 8250rpm) and 14.73 Nm torque at 7250rpm (up from 14.12Nm @ 7250rpm).

In comparison, the Honda Hornet 2.0 develops 17.2hp at 8500rpm and 16.1 Nm at 6000rpm; the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 develops 17.2hp at 9000rom and 14.6 Nm at 7250rpm. 

TVS Apache RTR 160 4V's engine is mated to a 5-speed super-slick gearbox that offers a precise and powerful riding experience. Other highlights are a dual-tone seat with carbon fibre pattern and LED headlamp with claw-styled position lamps.  Additionally, the motorcycle is lighter with a 2kg weight reduction, with the disc variant weighing 147kg and the drum variant weighing 145kg.

According to Meghashyam Dighole, Head - (Marketing) Premium Motorcycles, TVS Motor Company,  “Backed by 38 years of racing pedigree, the new 2021 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V offers best-in-class performance with enhanced power-to-weight ratio and increased torque, offering our customers better-riding experiences along with advanced technologies.”

The new TVS Apache RTR 160 4V motorcycle is available in three colours – Racing Red, Knight Black and Metallic Blue – and in two variants: Disc variant – Rs 110,320 and Drum variant – Rs 107,270 (ex-showroom Delhi).
