Toyota Kirloskar Motor sales soar 110% to 20,410 units in best-ever May and month

Combined domestic and export sales hit a new monthly high in May 2023; India sales at 19,379 units are up 90%, while month-on-month growth is 39% over April 2023.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor sales soar 110% to 20,410 units in best-ever May and month

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has reported combined domestic and export market wholesales of 20,410 units in May 2023, which constitutes robust 110% increase over year-ago sales (May 2022: 10,216 units) and marks its best-ever monthly sales. Month on month, the increase is 32% (April 2023: 15,510 units).

The May 2023 wholesales comprise domestic market sales of 19,379 units and export sales of 1,031 units (Urban Cruiser Hyryder). Month on month, the combined domestic and export sales are up 32% over April 2023’s 15,510 units.

Specific to the domestic market, TKM’s 19,379 units in May 2023 are up 90% (May 2022: 10,151), while the month-on-month growth is 39% (April 2023: 13,896 units).

Cumulative wholesales (domestic and export) for the first five months of CY2023 are 82,763 units, a 42% increase over the 58,505 units in January-May 2022.

Commenting on TKM’s sales in May 2023, Atul Sood, Vice-President of Sales and Strategic Marketing said, "We believe that the strong upward trajectory highlights the company's customer alignment and ever-growing product popularity with the latest launches like Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Innova Hycross and the Hilux that continue to support the strong sales momentum in their respective segments.”

He added, “We recently enhanced our production by implementing the third-shift of operations at our Bidadi plant from May 2023 which has greatly contributed to addressing the market’s needs.”
