TKM promotes quality education by constructing new schools

Toyota’s initiative in the area of education aimed at promoting healthier learning environment and reducing school dropouts in the district

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has built two new government schools in Dyavalinganapalya and Thalaguppe villages of Ramanagara District. Through this initiative it aims at promoting healthier learning environment and reducing school dropouts in the district.

The schools will benefit over 95 students covering 1st – 5th grades, which provides all necessary amenities to ensure good study environment and overall development. The inauguration of these schools were done by Mr. H.C. Balakrishna, MLA, Ramanagara District along with Mr. Naveen Soni – Vice President, Toyota Kirloskar Motor. Other dignitaries from local gram panchayat were also present during the occasion.

Along with amenities such as desks, benches, chairs, tables, educational and sports material key basic necessities such as sanitation & water facilities are also built-in considering the health & hygiene of the school children. The new schools will also ensure improvement in education standards and better retention rate in the region through a more dedicated and focused solution.

Speaking at the inaugural, Mr. H.C. Balakrishna, MLA – Magadi said “I would like to thank Toyota Kirloskar Motor for the comprehensive developmental initiatives carried out in Ramanagara district. The numerous social endeavors undertaken by the company has been instrumental in bringing about positive change in the lives of the people in the community.Education is a critical ingredient in determining individual and securing the future of our country, and over the years Toyota has always looked ahead in bringing academic development in the region & building a sustainable community.”

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has initiated several projects over the years to contribute to quality education in the country which has led to a visible decrease in the school dropout rates, in Bidadi region, from 0.8% in 2012 to 0.4% in 2016.

Under the Government’s National Campaign to provide clean sanitation facilities for girl child in India, Toyota has also pledged its support to ‘Swacch Bharat – Swacch Vidyalaya’ – by constructing sanitation units at identified schools by the Government in 3 locations across India to help reduce school dropouts.
