Tata’s CV sales up in May on low base
Tata’s MH&ICV sales tally in the month including trucks and buses, stood at 12,056 units.
Tata Motors sold 32,818 units in its CV business for May 2022 inclusive of exports as compared to 11,401 units in May 2021. Its passenger carrier and SCV businesses recorded sales of 3,632 and 14,899 units respectively in the domestic market, the company said in a press note. Its April 2022 sales in the domestic market was 30,838 units. Tata’s MH&ICV sales tally in the month including trucks and buses, stood at 12,056 units, compared to 3,241 units in May 2021. Sales numbers for May last year would have been affected by the second wave of the Covid.
Its sales for MH&ICV in the domestic and exports business in May 2022, including trucks and buses, stood at 12,810 units compared to 4,276 units in May 2021.
The company launched an electric version of the Ace four-wheeler in early May. It will be supplying close to 40,000 units to companies operating in the last mile delivery and logistics space, the company had said. It has signed MoU with at least eight companies including Amazon, BigBasket, City Link, DOT, Flipkart, LetsTransport, MoEVing and Yelo EV. Tata Motors is also in the process of setting up EV support centres.
