Tata Nano diesel to debut next year
November 7, 2012: Tata Motors will launch the much-awaited diesel version of its entry level car Nano during the July-December period next year.
November 7, 2012: Tata Motors will launch the much-awaited diesel version of its entry level car Nano during the July-December period next year. A CNG version of the car will be launched within the next six months. The Nano, according to Ranjit Yadav, president, Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle business unit, is seeing growth in sales but it still is behind the company’s internal targets. “it will soon reach the inflection point,” says Yadav. During the April-Sept ’12 period Nano sold 39,623 units, a 30 percent growth over the same period last year.
The addition CNG variant and the diesel version will give the most affordable car a major boost, and could play a major role in Tata Motors’ target of reaching the number two slot in the passenger vehicle industry.
