The biggest update for the 2021 Tigor EV is the Ziptron EV powertrain that debuted in the Nexon EV. The electric motor, which develops 75hp and 170Nm of peak torque, enables the Tigor EV to go from 0-50kph in 5.7 seconds.
With Ziptron tech, Tigor EV is now compatible with fast charging, with which the Tigor EV can be topped up from 0 to 80 percent in just 60 minutes.
Just like the Nexon EV, the Tigor EV also features regenerative braking. Tata also offers an 8 year/ 1,60,000km battery and motor warranty.
The Tigor EV gets a 7.0-inch touch-screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 4 speakers and 4 tweeters, iRA connected car tech, multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control, digital instrument cluster, and much more.

With the EV market in India reaching an inflection point, Tata Motors is keen to expand its reach. The new Tigor EV, now with Ziptron tech, aims to replicate what the Nexon EV has achieved.

Tata Motors has announced opening of pre-bookings for its second electric passenger vehicle – the new Tigor EV – which will be officially launched on August 31. The electric sedan can be booked at select Tata dealerships at Rs 21,000 starting today.

This is the new e-avatar of the sedan. The Tata Tigor EV first rolled out from the Sanand plant in Gujarat on December 6, 2017. Since then, till end-June 2021, the original Tigor EV has sold a total of 2,002 units, as per Autocar Professional’s data analytics with a fiscal year high of 1,039 units in FY2020. 

The Tata Nexon EV, which rolled out in January 2020, is currently the best-selling electric PV in the country with over 6,000 units sold since launch.

Ziptron power
The new Tigor EV, available in the signature Teal Blue colour, is powered by the proven high-voltage Ziptron technology.  The Tigor EV delivers a peak power output of 55 kW and a peak torque of 170 Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 60kph in 5.7 seconds. It comes with 26 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack which is efficiently packaged, providing highest on-board energy in the segment. Tata says the eo-friendly sedan offers a superior driving dynamics and handling aided by lower centre of gravity and balanced suspension setup offering a comfortable ride.

The Tigor EV has got an IP 67 rated battery pack and motor to make it weather and worry-proof and comes with an 8-year and 160,000 KM battery and motor warranty. It is based on a proven platform with rear crash compatible structure and also complies with ODB 64 test standard. The Impact Resistant Battery Pack casing of Tigor EV complies with AIS - 048 standard for nail penetration at Cell Level. The new Tigor EV is compatible with globally acceptable CCS2 charging protocol and can be fast charged as well as slow charged from any 15 A plug point.

In terms of features, the Tigor EV gets a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 4 speakers and 4 tweeters, iRA connected car tech, multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control, digital instrument cluster, and much more.

On the safety front, the Tigor EV gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, rear parking camera and seatbelt reminder.
