Tata Motors Group global wholesales down 14 percent in May 2013
June 17: The Tata Motors Group global wholesales in May 2013, including Jaguar Land Rover, were 81,783 units as compared to 96,089 units, a fall of 14 percent in comparison to year-earlier month sales.

Cumulative wholesales for the fiscal were 163,024 units as against 182,466 units in the previous year-earlier period.
Global wholesales of all commercial vehicles – Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range – were 38,641 units as against 45,025 units, a fall of 16 percent. Cumulative commercial vehicle wholesales for the fiscal were 78,610 units as against 99,433 units.
Global wholesales of all passenger vehicles in May 2013 were 43,142 units as against 51,064 units in the year-earlier month. Global wholesales of Tata passenger vehicles in May 2013 were 11,932 units as against 20,970 units.
Global wholesales for JLR were 31,210 vehicles. While Jaguar’s wholesales for the month were 7,061 vehicles and cumulative wholesales were 12,395 vehicles, Land Rover wholesales for the month were 24,149 vehicles and cumulative wholesales were 47,689 vehicles.
May 2013 sales were up 36 percent with sales of the XF up 32 percent, reflecting the continuing demand for the V6 and 2.0l petrol engines and the AWD and Sportbrake derivatives. In terms of global markets, the brand grew in all of the major regions with the China Region up 98 percent, Asia Pacific up 37 percent, North America up by 34 percent, Europe up 20 percent, the UK up 12 percent and other overseas markets up 26 percent.
Land Rover sold 26,303 vehicles in May, up 8 percent with Asia Pacific sales up 42 percent, Europe up 15 percent, North American up 3 percent, and the UK and China Region flat versus the same period last year, owing to production scheduling and run out of Range Rover Sport. Cumulative wholesales for JLR for the fiscal were 60,084 vehicles.
